Kia Telluride (LQ2, 2027-2026) Owner's Manual / Maintenance / Air cleaner. Replacing the air cleaner filter

Subaru Forester: Maintenance / Air cleaner. Replacing the air cleaner filter

Replacing the air cleaner filter

Replace the air cleaner filter whenever it accumulates significant debris or reaches scheduled intervals, and avoid washing or submerging it in liquids to preserve structural integrity.

You can clear loose surface dust from the filter media while inspecting the air cleaner compartment by using moderate compressed air to blow out trapped particles from the clean side outward.

  1. Pull up the securing lever on the air cleaner housing cover to release the main locking mechanism.

  2. Gently lift the air cleaner cover upward and tilt it open to gain clear access to the internal filter element.
  3. Rotate the dedicated retaining lever on the filter frame to loosen the secondary lock holding the cartridge in place.

  4. Lift out the dirty element and replace the air cleaner filter with a fresh, direct-fit replacement unit.
  5. Carefully reassemble the air cleaner filter components and latch the cover back into position following the exact reverse order of disassembly.

Always replace the filter according to the factory Maintenance Schedule to ensure optimal combustion efficiency for your Kia Telluride.

If you regularly drive your vehicle in extremely dusty, unpaved, or sandy areas, inspect and replace the filter more frequently than the standard recommended intervals to prevent airflow restriction. (Refer to the Maintenance under severe usage conditions section for complete guidelines.)

NOTE

  • Never operate or drive the vehicle with the air cleaner filter removed, as unfiltered intake air introduces abrasive grit into combustion chambers and leads to excessive engine wear.

  • When removing the air cleaner filter, take care to ensure that dust, leaves, or foreign debris do not drop into the exposed air intake duct, which can damage sensitive sensors or internal engine components.

  • Always use genuine replacement parts sourced from an authorized Kia dealer to guarantee accurate dimensions and reliable filtration capability.
