Subaru Forester: Seats / Front seat adjustment for manual seat : (if equipped)

The manually adjustable front seats in your Kia Telluride can be positioned using the control levers located on the outside of the seat cushion. Always adjust the seating position before driving to ensure maximum comfort, proper visibility, and safe vehicle control.

Moving forward and backward

Before driving, position the seat correctly and verify that it is securely locked. After making an adjustment, attempt to move the seat forward and backward without operating the adjustment lever. If movement occurs, the seat has not been fully locked and must be adjusted again.

To recline the seatback:

  1. Lean your upper body slightly forward and lift the seatback recliner lever.
  2. Carefully lean back while adjusting the seatback until the preferred seating angle is reached.
  3. Release the lever and confirm that the seatback has locked securely in the selected position.

The recliner lever MUST fully return to its original position to ensure the seatback is properly locked.

    WARNING

    Reclining seatback

Driving or riding with the seatback excessively reclined can significantly increase the risk of injury during a collision. Even if the seat belt is fastened, an improper seating position reduces the effectiveness of both the seat belts and the air bag system.

For the restraint system to provide maximum protection, the lap belt should fit securely across the hips and the shoulder belt should rest firmly against the chest. When the seatback is reclined too far, the shoulder belt may no longer remain properly positioned. During a collision, this may allow the occupant to slide beneath the lap belt or be thrown against the restraint system, increasing the likelihood of neck, abdominal, spinal, or other serious injuries.

The farther the seatback is reclined, the greater the possibility that your hips may slide beneath the lap belt or that your neck could come into contact with the shoulder belt during a crash.
