Certain configurations of the Kia Telluride feature a specialized auxiliary 12V parking lithium battery. This additional power unit delivers a constant and stable electrical supply to support background functions while parked, including Over-The-Air (OTA) system software updates, the automatic A/C drying feature, and CCS operations.

Should the auxiliary 12V lithium battery system detect an internal irregularity—such as excessive operating temperatures or an overcharging event—a diagnostic warning message will appear on the instrument cluster display, or an automated alert text message will be dispatched directly to your registered smartphone.

NOTE

Receiving automated malfunction alert text messages on your mobile device requires an active subscription to the Kia Connect connected vehicle service.

TIP

If a warning message lights up on your instrument cluster or a safety notification arrives via text, schedule a diagnostic checkup for your Kia Telluride with an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
