Air bag sensors

Do not strike, modify, or allow objects to impact the locations where the air bag modules or collision sensors are installed. Doing so may cause unintended air bag deployment or prevent proper operation during an accident, increasing the risk of serious injury or death.

If the installation angle or mounting position of any sensor is altered, the SRS may not function as intended. Never perform repairs or modifications around the sensor mounting areas. Always have the Kia Telluride inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Avoid direct contact with the front impact sensors. Even minor changes to their mounting position may affect the performance of the Supplemental Restraint System.

Damage or deformation to the front bumper, front-end structure, body panels, or the doors where the side collision sensors are installed can affect sensor alignment and system operation. If your Kia Telluride has been involved in an accident or sustained body damage, have the SRS inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Installing aftermarket bumper guards, side steps, running boards, or replacing the bumper or front door module with non-genuine components may negatively affect collision sensing characteristics and air bag deployment performance.
