Subaru Forester: Child Restraint System (CRS) / Installing a child restraint system (CRS)

After selecting the appropriate Child Restraint System (CRS) for your child, verify that it fits correctly in your Kia Telluride before installation. A properly fitted and securely installed child seat is essential for providing the highest level of protection during everyday driving and in the event of a collision.

Always follow the installation instructions supplied by the child restraint manufacturer. In addition, observe these general installation guidelines when securing a CRS in your vehicle:

1. Properly secure the child restraint to the vehicle.

   Every Child Restraint System must be attached using either the lap portion of the lap/shoulder seat belt or the LATCH anchorage system, depending on the design of the child seat and the recommended installation method.

2. Make sure the child restraint is firmly secured.

   After installation, grasp the CRS and push and pull it forward, backward, and side to side to confirm that it is securely attached. A child restraint installed with a seat belt should be tightened as much as possible, although a slight amount of side-to-side movement may still be normal.

3. Secure the child in the CRS.

   Always fasten the child using the harness system provided with the CRS, following the manufacturer's instructions for proper adjustment and fit.
