Ball mount installation
Loosen the two retaining screws located inside the rear body panel, then pull the lower portion of the cover outward to open and remove it. Store the cover in a secure location until towing is complete.
Carefully slide the ball mount straight into the hitch receiver assembly until it is fully seated.
Align the mounting holes in the ball mount with the corresponding holes in the hitch receiver.
Insert the hitch pin completely through both the hitch receiver and the ball mount.
Secure the assembly by inserting the retaining clip into the hole at the end of the hitch pin.
Ball mount removal
Remove the retaining clip from the hitch pin, then pull the pin completely out of the hitch receiver and ball mount.
Slide the ball mount rearward and remove it from the hitch receiver.
Reinstall the protective hitch cover and store the ball mount in a clean, dry, and secure location until it is needed again.
WARNING
Always remove the ball mount when your Kia Telluride is not towing a trailer. Leaving it installed unnecessarily may create a hazard for pedestrians or other vehicles.
Select a ball mount with the proper rating and dimensions for the trailer you intend to tow.
Before towing, verify that all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure specified for trailer operation.
