The fuel economy of your Kia Telluride depends largely on how, where, and when you drive.

Driving habits, road conditions, traffic, vehicle load, and maintenance condition all affect fuel consumption. To operate your vehicle as efficiently as possible and help reduce fuel and repair costs, follow these driving recommendations:

• Drive smoothly and accelerate at a moderate rate. Avoid aggressive starts, full-throttle acceleration, and unnecessary rapid speed changes. Maintain a steady cruising speed when possible, follow the flow of traffic, and avoid heavy congestion whenever practical. Keeping a safe following distance also reduces unnecessary braking and helps limit brake wear.

• Drive at moderate speeds. Higher speeds increase fuel consumption, especially on highways. Maintaining a reasonable cruising speed is one of the most effective ways to improve efficiency.

• Maintain your tires properly. Keep all tires inflated to the recommended pressure, as incorrect inflation can increase tire wear and reduce fuel economy. Check tire pressure at least once a month.

• Make sure the wheels are correctly aligned. Hitting curbs or driving too quickly over rough or uneven surfaces can affect wheel alignment. Poor alignment increases tire wear, may cause additional vehicle problems, and can reduce fuel efficiency.

• Driving with windows open at higher speeds can reduce aerodynamic efficiency and increase fuel consumption.

• Fuel economy may decrease when driving into headwinds or strong crosswinds. Reduce speed in these conditions to help offset the additional fuel demand.
