Subaru Forester: Brake system warning light (red) / Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) system warning
If the warning light remains on even though
the parking brake is released, the brake
fluid level may be low or there could be a
problem with the EBD system. Park the
vehicle in a safe place immediately and
contact a SUBARU dealer.
The brake system warning light
will
illuminate when the vacuum pressure
sensor is malfunctioning or brake booster
pressure is decreasing.
If the brake warning light continues to
illuminate for several minutes after starting
the engine, there may be a malfunction in
the vacuum system...

When washing the vehicle, the
brakes may get wet. As a result,
the brake stopping distance will
be longer. To dry the brakes, drive
the vehicle at a safe speed while
lightly depressing the brake pedal
to heat up the brakes.
