Subaru Forester: Mirrors / Inside rearview mirror

Before driving, adjust the inside rearview mirror so that you have a clear, centered view through the rear window. Making this adjustment before the vehicle begins moving helps ensure maximum rearward visibility.

Do not place luggage, cargo, or other objects in the rear seating area or cargo compartment if they obstruct your view through the rear window.

WARNING

Mirror adjustment

Never attempt to adjust the inside rearview mirror while the vehicle is in motion. Taking your attention away from the road may result in loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of an accident.

WARNING

Do not modify or replace the factory-installed interior mirror with oversized or wide-angle mirrors. Such modifications may increase the risk of injury during a collision or air bag deployment.

NOTE

Mirror cleaning

Clean the mirror using a soft paper towel or similar lint-free material lightly dampened with glass cleaner. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the mirror, as liquid may enter the mirror housing and damage internal components.
