Manual Speed Limit Assist (MSLA) is a helpful tool in your Kia Telluride, allowing you to set a maximum speed threshold. It is particularly useful when you want to avoid unintentionally exceeding a specific speed limit on local roads or in school zones.
If you accelerate beyond your preset limit, the Manual Speed Limit Assist system will engage: the set speed limit will begin to blink on the cluster, and an audible chime will sound to warn you until your speed is brought back within the defined limit.
Press and hold the Driving Assist (
) button while your Kia Telluride is traveling at your desired speed. The Speed Limit (
) indicator will appear on your instrument cluster.
|
Push the (
) switch up or the (
) switch down and release it while driving to establish your speed. If you push and hold these switches, the Kia Telluride will automatically adjust the set speed to the nearest multiple of 5 mph (10 km/h) before continuing to increment or decrement by that same value.
|
|
The instrument cluster will confirm the set speed limit (1). If you exceed this, the limit will blink and a chime will alert you to adjust your speed accordingly.
|
TIP
The Kia Telluride will maintain your set speed as long as the accelerator pedal is not pressed beyond the internal pressure point.
Maximum speed settings vary based on your specific Kia Telluride trim and regional specifications; therefore, you cannot set a speed limit higher than your vehicle’s factory-restricted maximum.
|
To temporarily pause the Manual Speed Limit Assist in your Kia Telluride, simply press the (
) switch. The active speed limit will turn OFF, but the main Speed Limit (
) icon will stay active, indicating the system is in standby mode.
|
You can easily reactivate the system after a pause by using the control switches on your Kia Telluride steering wheel:
Pushing the (
) up or (
) down switches will set the speed limit to your current real-time speed.
Pushing the (
) switch will instantly restore the previously saved speed limit setting.
|
Press the Driving Assist (
) button to switch Manual Speed Limit Assist OFF. Once the feature is disabled, the Speed Limit (
) indicator disappears from the instrument display, confirming that the function is no longer active. Disabling the feature may be appropriate whenever you do not want the Kia Telluride to provide speed limit assistance during your drive.
WARNING
Follow these safety precautions whenever using Manual Speed Limit Assist in your Kia Telluride:
Always set your driving speed below the posted legal speed limit and adjust your speed according to current traffic, weather, and road conditions.
To prevent accidentally activating or storing an unwanted speed setting, leave Manual Speed Limit Assist OFF whenever the function is not needed. Confirm that the Speed Limit (
) indicator remains OFF before continuing your trip.
Manual Speed Limit Assist is designed to support the driver, not replace attentive and responsible driving. You must remain alert at all times, monitor changing traffic situations, and respond immediately to unexpected hazards or road conditions.
