The Vehicle Auto Shut-off system automatically switches the Kia Telluride off after a user-selected period of idling. This feature is intended to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, conserve energy, and help minimize the risk associated with prolonged engine operation, including carbon monoxide exposure.

Approximately 10 minutes before the automatic shut-off occurs, the instrument cluster displays a warning message together with the remaining countdown time. Press the OK button on the steering wheel to reset the Vehicle Auto Shut-off timer and continue engine operation.
Activation requirements
The Vehicle Auto Shut-off system becomes active only when all of the following conditions are met:
The vehicle is in the ON position.
The Kia Telluride is stationary with the transmission in P (Park).
The driver's seat belt is unfastened.
The driver's door is open.
The front passenger seat is unoccupied.
TIP
The default Vehicle Auto Shut-off timer setting is 60 minutes.
Resetting the time
You can restart and reinitialize the Vehicle Auto Shut-off timer under any of the following conditions:
Pressing and releasing the brake pedal.
Pressing the accelerator pedal.
Manually resetting the timer.
Pressing the OK button on the steering wheel.
Canceling the system
The Vehicle Auto Shut-off function automatically cancels when any of the following occurs:
The Kia Telluride begins moving faster than 2 mph (3 km/h).
The transmission is shifted into D (Drive), R (Reverse), or N (Neutral).
The driver's seat belt is fastened.
