If a metallic object, such as a coin, key, or similar item, is located between the wireless charging pad and the smartphone, charging may be interrupted. The metal object can also become hot during operation.

Distracted driving

Driving while distracted can result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of an accident, serious injury, or death. The driver's primary responsibility is the safe and lawful operation of the vehicle. Never operate handheld devices or interact with vehicle systems in a manner that diverts your attention from the road.

Liquid in wireless charging system

To help protect the wireless charging system from damage, avoid spilling water, beverages, or any other liquids onto the charging pad.

Metal in wireless charging system

If a metallic object such as a coin is trapped between the smartphone and the charging pad, charging may be interrupted and the object may become hot enough to damage the charging system. If this occurs, remove the smartphone first and allow the metal object to cool before handling it.

• If the temperature inside the wireless charging system exceeds its operating limit, charging will automatically stop. Charging resumes once the internal temperature returns to an acceptable level.

• Wireless charging performance may be reduced when a thick or heavy protective smartphone case is installed.

• Wireless charging temporarily stops while the wireless smart key search function is being used to prevent radio frequency interference.

• Charging also stops when the smart key leaves the vehicle while it is in the ON position.

• On vehicles equipped with smart keys, opening any door will interrupt wireless charging.

• Wireless charging automatically stops when the Kia Telluride is turned off.

• Charging may not begin or may stop if the smartphone is not making full contact with the charging pad.

• Items containing magnetic materials, including credit cards, hotel key cards, or transit passes, may be damaged during wireless charging and should not be placed on the charging pad.

• For the best charging performance, position the smartphone in the center of the charging pad. Charging may become slower and the device may become warmer if it is positioned near the edge.

• Smartphones without integrated wireless charging capability require a compatible wireless charging accessory.

• Some smartphones may display messages indicating low charging current. This is related to the characteristics of the device and is not a fault with the Kia Telluride wireless charging system.

• On certain smartphone models, the charging indicator may remain amber after the battery is fully charged. This is a normal characteristic of the device.

• If a smartphone without wireless charging capability or another metallic object is placed on the charging pad, a slight operating noise may be heard while the system checks compatibility. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.

• The wireless smartphone charging system may not support certain mobile devices that are not certified to the Qi^® standard ().

• Always place your smartphone in the center of the charging pad for maximum charging efficiency.

  If the smartphone is positioned off-center, charging speed may decrease and the device may generate additional heat.

• Some smartphones include built-in battery protection features that may reduce charging speed or temporarily stop wireless charging to protect the battery.

• Only smartphones that support wireless charging can be charged using the Kia Telluride wireless charging pad.

• The wireless charging pad incorporates an internal cooling system. You may hear fan noise during charging, which is a normal part of system operation.

• It is normal for your smartphone to become warm while charging. Running applications such as Android Auto or Apple CarPlay may increase device temperature, which can slow or temporarily suspend charging until the phone cools. This does not indicate a malfunction of the Kia Telluride wireless charging system.

• During wireless charging, the internal cooling fan operates automatically to help maintain appropriate charging temperatures. Fan noise may be noticeable during operation.

For certain smartphones equipped with built-in battery protection, wireless charging speed may be reduced or charging may stop altogether according to the manufacturer's charging strategy and product specifications. Refer to your smartphone manufacturer's wireless charging documentation for the maximum supported charging speed.
