Subaru Forester: Rear seat adjustment / 2nd row seat folding (from the luggage room)

Kia Telluride luggage compartment second-row seat folding switches

The Kia Telluride is equipped with convenient second-row seat folding switches located on the left side of the luggage compartment. These controls allow you to quickly fold the rear seats without walking around to the passenger compartment, making it easier to configure the interior when loading larger cargo.

Pressing the left switch folds the left-side seatback together with the center seatback.

Pressing the right switch folds the right-side seatback.

WARNING

Before folding the rear seatbacks, make sure the driver's seat has been adjusted to the proper driving position. Operating the vehicle with the driver's seat incorrectly positioned may reduce vehicle control and increase the risk of injury during sudden braking or a collision.

WARNING

Raising the seatback upright

When returning a seatback to its upright position, always hold it securely and guide it slowly into place. Allowing the seatback to spring forward without support may cause it to strike the driver or passengers, resulting in injury.

WARNING

Rear seatback

To ensure the highest level of occupant protection in the Kia Telluride during a collision or sudden stop, always verify the following after returning the rear seat to its normal position:

  • Take care not to damage the seat belt webbing or buckle while raising the seatback.

  • Make sure the seatback does not trap or pinch the seat belt webbing or buckle.

  • Push firmly on the upper portion of the seatback to confirm that it is fully locked in the upright position before driving.

NOTE

Protecting rear seat belt buckles

Before folding the rear seatback, place the seat belt buckle into the space between the seat cushion and the seatback. This helps protect the buckle from damage while the seat is folded or returned to its normal position.

TIP

Rear seat belts

After returning the rear seatbacks to the upright position, make sure each rear shoulder belt is routed correctly and is ready for normal passenger use.

WARNING

Cargo

Always secure luggage and other cargo properly before driving. Unrestrained items can be thrown around the passenger compartment during sudden braking or a collision, increasing the risk of injury. Avoid placing unsecured objects on the rear seats, as they cannot be safely restrained in that location.

WARNING

Cargo loading

Before loading or unloading cargo from your Kia Telluride, confirm that the engine is OFF, the shift lever is in P (Park), and the parking brake has been fully applied. These precautions help prevent unintended vehicle movement if the transmission is accidentally shifted out of Park.
