Subaru Forester: Digital Key 2 (smartphone) / How to register Digital Key 2 (smartphone)

Kia Digital Key 2 is available only on supported smartphones. Compatibility depends on both the smartphone model and the Digital Key 2 functionality provided by the device manufacturer. Certain smartphone features or software versions may not be compatible with your Kia Telluride.

While the Digital Key 2 controller is being updated, some smart key functions may be temporarily unavailable. During this period, you can continue using the smart key's lock and unlock buttons to access the vehicle.

Smartphone set-up

Before using the Digital Key 2 (Smartphone) feature, install the Kia Access App on your compatible smartphone, sign in with your account, complete the required registration, and activate the service.

For detailed instructions, access the online owner's manual using the QR code included in the infotainment system quick reference guide.

    • Vehicle

If a Digital Key 2 (smartphone) has already been registered in the Kia Telluride, the infotainment system displays Delete All under the Smartphone Key menu, while the My Smartphone Key screen displays Delete. To register another smartphone, first delete the existing digital key.

    • Smartphone

If your smartphone already stores the vehicle's Digital Key 2, it cannot be registered again until the existing digital key has been removed from the Kia Access App.

    • The Digital Key 2 registration process will be cancelled automatically if any of the following occurs:

      • The smartphone is removed from the wireless charging/authentication pad.

      • You change the infotainment or instrument cluster display.

      • The vehicle is switched off.

      • The transmission is shifted out of P (Park).

      • No registered smart key is detected inside the vehicle, preventing registration from starting.

    • Depending on the internal antenna layout of certain smartphones, communication with the wireless authentication pad may vary. If registration does not begin, slightly reposition the smartphone to the left or right on the charging pad and try again.

    • UWB (Ultra Wide Band) is an ultra-wideband wireless communication technology, while NFC (Near Field Communication) provides short-range wireless communication used for Digital Key authentication.
