Your Kia Telluride comes equipped from the factory with a compact spare tire, specifically engineered to take up significantly less cargo space than a standard road wheel. Because this tire is smaller and lighter than a conventional full-size wheel assembly, it is intended strictly for temporary, short-term emergency travel to get you safely to a repair facility.

• Exercise extra caution and drive conservatively while the compact spare tire is installed on your vehicle. Make arrangements to repair or replace your primary full-size tire and wheel assembly as soon as possible.

• Never attempt to drive your Kia Telluride with more than one compact spare tire fitted to the vehicle at any given time.

WARNING

The compact spare tire requires a cold inflation pressure of 60 psi (420 kPa) to function safely under vehicle load.

NOTE

When operating your Kia Telluride with a compact spare tire installed, carefully adhere to the following driving precautions:

• Never exceed 50 mph (80 km/h) under any driving conditions, as excessive highway speeds generate severe heat buildup that can cause rapid tread separation or catastrophic tire damage.

• Reduce your driving speed and adapt carefully to prevailing road surfaces. Hazardous road conditions, including deep potholes, rough pavement, or scattered highway debris, can cause severe impact damage to the narrow spare tire rim.

• Prolonged or continuous driving on a temporary spare can lead to sudden tire structural failure, resulting in an unexpected loss of vehicle control and severe personal injury.

• Do not exceed your vehicle’s total maximum load capacity rating or the individual load-carrying limit stamped clearly onto the sidewall of the compact spare tire.

• Drive cautiously around speed bumps, curb drops, and road obstacles. Because the overall outer diameter of the compact spare is smaller than that of a standard full-size tire, overall vehicle ground clearance is reduced by approximately 1 in (25 mm), increasing the risk of underbody or bumper damage.

• Avoid taking your Kia Telluride through automated car wash facilities while the compact spare tire is mounted, as guide rails and automated machinery can strike the narrow wheel or cause chassis damage.

• Do not install this compact spare tire on any other vehicle model. It has been engineered and load-tested specifically for the exact hub layout and chassis specifications of your Kia Telluride.

• The tread depth and rubber compound of a compact spare tire offer a substantially shorter service life compared to standard road tires. Inspect the spare regularly for signs of degradation, cracks, or air loss, and replace a worn spare wheel with an identical factory-approved unit mounted on the original rim.

• Never mount the compact spare tire onto an unapproved wheel rim. Similarly, do not fit standard full-size tires, winter snow tires, decorative wheel covers, or trim rings onto the compact spare wheel, as doing so can damage the wheel assembly and surrounding suspension components.

• Never install or operate more than one compact spare tire on the vehicle simultaneously.

• Do not tow a trailer or haul heavy trailed loads while your Kia Telluride is running on a compact spare tire.
