The Kia Telluride smart key combines a traditional mechanical key with a variety of convenient remote-control functions, allowing secure vehicle access and operation without removing the key from your pocket or bag under normal conditions.
WARNING
Smart key
Never leave the smart key inside your Kia Telluride when children are left in the vehicle without supervision. Leaving children unattended in a vehicle with access to the smart key is extremely dangerous.
Children may imitate adults and press the ENGINE START/STOP button. Doing so may allow them to operate the power windows, activate other vehicle controls, or even move the vehicle unexpectedly, creating a serious risk of severe injury or death.
Record your key number
The key code number is stamped on the key code tag supplied with your key set. If the original keys are lost, this code enables an authorized Kia dealer to produce replacement keys more efficiently. Remove the key code tag after delivery and store it in a secure location separate from the vehicle. It is also recommended to write down the key code and keep the record in a safe and easily accessible place outside your Kia Telluride.
WARNING
Aftermarket keys
Always use genuine Kia replacement keys designed specifically for your vehicle. Using aftermarket or unauthorized keys may prevent the ENGINE START/STOP button from returning to the ON position after START. As a result, the starter motor could continue operating, causing excessive electrical current, possible wiring damage, and an increased risk of fire.
WARNING
Never leave the keys in your vehicle
Leaving children unattended inside a vehicle with the keys present is dangerous, even when the vehicle is in the ACC or ON position. Children may unintentionally press the start button, operate the power windows, or activate other vehicle controls. In some situations, the vehicle could begin moving unexpectedly, resulting in serious injury or death. Never leave the keys inside your Kia Telluride with unsupervised children while the vehicle is running or otherwise capable of being operated.
