Driving on a curved road

On tight curves, the Kia Telluride Smart Cruise Control may lose track of a vehicle within the same lane because the sensor’s forward projection may be focused on a different path, potentially causing the system to accelerate toward the set speed. Conversely, your vehicle might trigger a sudden braking response if a vehicle in the lane is detected abruptly as you emerge from the curve.
Always manually select a conservative set speed when navigating winding roads, and remain ready to engage the brake or accelerator pedals to adjust to the actual road conditions ahead.

Note that the Smart Cruise Control system might inadvertently reduce your Kia Telluride's speed due to the presence of vehicles in adjacent lanes, particularly when they are close to the lane markings.
Constantly verify that the driving environment remains suitable for automated speed maintenance. If the system reacts prematurely to neighboring traffic, manually depress the brake to smooth out the speed and ensure you maintain a comfortable, safe following distance.
Driving on an inclined road

When traversing steep uphill or downhill gradients, the Smart Cruise Control may temporarily fail to maintain a lock on a moving vehicle in your lane. Always prioritize your active attention to the road. The system's ability to detect leading vehicles is severely reduced in the following scenarios:
While actively steering through turns or lane changes.
When navigating through tight, narrow, or highly irregular road layouts.
When a vehicle ahead disappears from view at an intersection

If a leading vehicle turns off at an intersection and exits your direct path, the Kia Telluride Smart Cruise Control may detect a clear road ahead and automatically accelerate. Always stay alert and prepared to manually adjust your speed in intersection environments.
When a vehicle ahead of you changes lanes

When a lead vehicle exits your lane, there may be a momentary delay before the Smart Cruise Control system in your Kia Telluride identifies and locks onto a new vehicle positioned further ahead.
