Subaru Forester: Digital Key 2 : (if equipped) / Limitations of the system

• Digital Key 2 may not operate correctly under any of the following conditions:

  • The smartphone battery or the Kia Telluride vehicle battery is discharged.

  • NFC or Bluetooth has been turned off in the smartphone settings.

  • A thick case, metallic case, or overlapping credit card is attached to the smartphone.

  • The NFC card key (if equipped) is stored together with other cards inside a wallet or card holder.

  • Electronic interference is present from nearby vehicles or surrounding electronic devices.

  • Communication through NFC may be interrupted if the smartphone uses a metallic cover or certain communication accessories. If Digital Key 2 does not respond correctly, remove the accessory and try again.

• Smartphone control of the vehicle may be temporarily unavailable under the following circumstances:

  • The smartphone is currently handling essential functions such as voice calls, emergency calls, audio playback, or contactless payments.

  • Wireless earbuds or headphones are actively being used for calls or audio streaming.

  • The smartphone manufacturer's background application management or default system settings temporarily limit Digital Key 2 functionality.

  • If a UWB-compatible smartphone remains within the vehicle's Bluetooth range for an extended period, the vehicle battery may experience additional power consumption. If your smartphone or application supports an Automatic Access feature, disable it before use when appropriate.
