Purchasing a used vehicle

If any Digital Key 2 credentials, including a smartphone key or NFC card key (if equipped), remain registered in the vehicle, the message Digital key(s) active will appear once on the instrument cluster after the vehicle is unlocked and switched on.

When purchasing a pre-owned Kia Telluride, verify whether any Digital Key 2 devices from the previous owner are still registered. Delete all previously stored smartphone and card keys, if applicable, and notify an authorized Kia dealer of the ownership change. If the supplied NFC card key does not operate correctly, remove its registration, register your smartphone as a new Digital Key 2, and then register the card key again.

Digital Key 2 maintenance

If the Digital Key 2 system requires servicing or replacement, previously registered smartphone keys or NFC card keys may be erased during the repair process, depending on the maintenance performed. After servicing, registration may need to be completed again before Digital Key 2 functions become available.
