Subaru Forester: Digital Key 2 : (if equipped) / Personalized profile and vehicle settings

When a smartphone registered as a Kia Digital Key 2 is linked to a user profile, the Kia Telluride can automatically apply that driver's personalized vehicle settings. Features such as door locking and unlocking with the digital key, along with other customized preferences, will operate according to the linked profile. Up to two individual driver profiles can be linked and personalized.

The infotainment system interface may vary after software updates. For the latest menu layout and operating instructions, refer to the infotainment system owner's manual and the accompanying quick reference guide.

Linking and unlinking profile

How to link user profile

  1. On the infotainment system, select Setup > User profile > Profile setting > Link digital key (smartphone).
  2. If a registered smartphone digital key is available, select Link to begin pairing the digital key with the selected driver profile, then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
  3. If prompted, tap Link again to confirm the association between the registered smartphone and the selected user profile. Continue following the infotainment system prompts until the process is complete.
  4. After successful registration, the message Digital Key Link Complete will appear on the infotainment system display.
  5. If multiple smartphones are registered, tap the Link button, select the desired smartphone from the available list, and complete the pairing by following the on-screen instructions.

Once the linking procedure has finished successfully, the infotainment system will display the message Digital Key Link Complete.

How to unlink user profile

  1. Open Setup > User profile > Profile setting > Link digital key (smartphone) on the infotainment system. Select the linked smartphone and remove the association from the user profile. Unlinking is only available when an active profile association already exists.
  2. After the process finishes, the infotainment system will display the message Digital key is unlinked.

    TIP

    • A single smartphone can only be associated with one active driver profile at a time. If the same smartphone is linked to another driver profile, the previous association will automatically be replaced by the newest one.

    • User profile linking is available only when the Digital Key 2 is successfully registered on both the smartphone and the Kia Telluride. A smartphone already linked to another vehicle's digital key cannot be linked simultaneously.

    • The NFC Digital Key 2 card key cannot be paired with a personalized user profile.

    • If the smartphone is removed from the wireless charging pad before the linking procedure has completed, the pairing process will be canceled.

    • If the user profile associated with the smartphone digital key is deleted, you must register the Digital Key 2 again and repeat the profile linking process to restore personalized settings.

    • The infotainment system menus may differ following software updates. Refer to the infotainment system owner's manual and quick reference guide for the latest information.

Vehicle personalization operation

The personalization features linked to Kia Digital Key 2 become available under the following operating conditions:

  • Touch the driver's outside door handle with the smartphone linked to your profile to lock or unlock the vehicle. Personalization is activated only through the driver's door and does not operate when using the front passenger door.

  • The personalization function becomes available after the Digital Key 2 has been successfully linked to the desired user profile through the infotainment system settings.

  • Profile personalization works only when the Kia Telluride is in the OFF state or has been started remotely. If the vehicle has not been remotely started, personalization will not activate through the digital key.
