To easily adjust or change the Warning Methods settings while the vehicle ignition state is ON, navigate on the Kia Telluride infotainment system screen by tapping Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Warning Methods. From this interface, you can customize the following user preferences:
Warning Volume: Adjusts the audio output level and acoustic alert intensity of the park distance warning chime sound.
TIP
Your adjusted Warning Methods settings may automatically apply to the corresponding notification preferences across other driver assistance systems in the Kia Telluride.
The Warning Methods configuration will automatically retain its last selected custom settings even after you turn the engine OFF and restart the vehicle later.
Depending on specific regional trim levels or software builds, the Warning Methods setting menu options may not be available on all Kia Telluride models.
You can configure the Parking Distance Warning system to automatically engage and activate whenever you are maneuvering at low speeds. To enable the Parking Distance Warning Auto On feature on your Kia Telluride, simply tap Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Parking Safety > Parking Distance Warning Auto On on the central infotainment system display screen.
WARNING
Do not rely on or use this system when towing a heavy trailer or another vehicle, or when a hitch-mounted cargo carrier or secondary accessory equipment that alters ultrasonic sensor line-of-sight or overall vehicle balance is installed, as the system may fail to function properly or generate false distance alerts.
When connecting a trailer or exterior accessory rack, properly configure the dedicated trailer or carrier settings menu (if equipped). If the driver manually selects the appropriate trailer profile or if a genuine Kia connection harness automatically detects the trailer assembly, certain functions of the driver assistance system may be restricted or disabled for safety. Please review all Driver assistance system limitations carefully and maintain complete manual control at all times.
TIP
When the Parking Distance Warning Auto On option is activated in the touchscreen menu, the physical Parking Safety button indicator light (
) will remain continuously illuminated ON.
