Subaru Forester: Trailer towing: (if equipped) / Safety chains

Always connect safety chains between your Kia Telluride and the trailer before towing. Cross the chains beneath the trailer tongue so they can help support the tongue if it becomes disconnected from the hitch.

Follow the recommendations supplied by the trailer or hitch manufacturer when attaching the safety chains. Leave only enough slack to allow normal turning without placing excessive tension on the chains. Never allow the chains to drag on the road surface while driving.
