Depending on the equipped features and selected settings, the system can automatically illuminate the surrounding area or portions of the interior to provide a more comfortable entry and exit experience.

Welcome light function

When all doors and the liftgate are securely closed and locked, the puddle lamps illuminate for approximately 15 seconds after the vehicle is unlocked with the smart key or when you place your hand inside the exterior door handle while carrying the smart key.

Escort light function

When the vehicle is in the OFF position and the driver's door is opened, the puddle lamps remain illuminated for approximately 30 seconds to help improve visibility around the Kia Telluride.

If the driver's door is closed during this 30-second period, the puddle lamps stay on for about 15 additional seconds before turning off. If the driver's door is closed and the vehicle is locked, the lamps switch off immediately.

The escort light function is activated only the first time the driver's door is opened after the vehicle has been turned off.

Select Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome Mirror/Light > On Door Unlock or On Driver Approach from the infotainment system screen.

When every door and the liftgate are fully closed and locked, the illuminated door handles remain on for approximately 15 seconds if one of the following actions is performed:

  • Press the door unlock button on the smart key.

  • Press the button located on the outside door handle.

  • Approach the Kia Telluride while carrying the smart key.

Headlight escort function

Select Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome Mirror/Light > On Door Unlock or On Driver Approach from the infotainment system screen.

After switching the Kia Telluride to the OFF position or changing the vehicle to the ON position, the headlights and taillights remain illuminated for approximately five minutes. If the driver's door is opened and then closed, the headlights automatically switch off after approximately 15 seconds.

You can turn the headlights off sooner by pressing the smart key lock button twice or by moving the lighting switch to the OFF position.

Interior light

When the DOOR OFF indicator is not illuminated and all doors and the liftgate are completely closed and locked, the interior lamps turn on for approximately 30 seconds if one of the following smart key operations is performed:

  • Press the smart key door unlock button.

  • Touch the sensor located on the outside door handle.

If you press the smart key's door lock button, the interior lights turn off immediately.

Dynamic welcome light: (if equipped)

This feature creates a dynamic exterior lighting sequence for a short period after the Kia Telluride is unlocked, adding a distinctive visual effect while welcoming the driver to the vehicle.
