When driving above a certain speed, Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist can monitor the rear-side warning area. If the system detects a vehicle in the blind spot and determines that a collision risk exists, it warns the driver with a warning light and an audible alert. If the collision risk increases while the Kia Telluride is moving forward, the system may also apply braking assistance to help avoid or reduce the severity of a collision.
The system is also designed to detect vehicles traveling in the blind spot area and provide a warning so the driver can respond more safely.

Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist can help detect and warn you about a vehicle positioned in your blind spot or approaching quickly from the rear-side blind spot area.
|
When pulling out of a parking space, Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist can assess whether an approaching vehicle in the blind spot area creates a collision risk. If necessary, the system may help the Kia Telluride avoid a collision by applying the brakes.
WARNING
The detection range may vary depending on your vehicle speed. Even when another vehicle is present in the blind spot area, Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist may not provide a warning if you pass other vehicles at high speed.
The timing of the warning may vary when another vehicle approaches the blind spot area at high speed.
Detection sensor
Please refer to Detecting sensor(s) for the applicable sensors and their locations.
WARNING
Never disassemble, modify, or damage the detection sensor assembly.
If the detection sensor or the area around it has been damaged or impacted, Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist may not operate properly even when no warning message appears on the instrument cluster. Have the function inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
If any detection sensor has been replaced or repaired, have the Kia Telluride inspected by an authorized Kia dealer to confirm proper system operation.
If paint is applied to the bumper area where the rear corner radar sensors are installed, or if that bumper area is changed, Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist may not function properly. Use only Kia Genuine Parts or replacement parts of an equivalent standard with proven quality and performance when repairing or replacing the bumper.
Do not install a license plate frame, bumper sticker, film, bumper guard, or similar object near the rear corner radar area.
Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist may not work correctly if the bumper has been replaced, if the area around the rear corner radar has been damaged, or if paint has been applied near the radar sensors.
Installing a trailer, carrier, or similar equipment may negatively affect rear corner radar performance and may prevent Blind-Spot Collision-avoidance Assist from operating properly.

This display shows the average vehicle speed since the trip meter was last reset. Pressing the TRIP RESET switch toggles the display between the average vehicle speed corresponding to the A trip meter display and the average vehicle speed corresponding to the B trip meter display. When either of the trip meter displays is reset, the corresponding average vehicle speed value is also reset.
