The instrument cluster displays the following transmission-related warning messages whenever the corresponding operating condition is detected:
Message
Description
Transmission Hot! Park with engine on
During demanding driving conditions, including repeated hard acceleration or frequent stop-and-go operation, the transmission temperature may become excessively high. The Kia Telluride protection system will display this warning message and sound an audible alert.
Move the vehicle to a safe location, stop with the engine running, keep the brake pedal applied, shift into P (Park), and allow the transmission sufficient time to cool.
If the warning remains after the transmission has cooled, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Vehicle power limited due to high transmission temperature
This warning appears when the transmission reaches its maximum operating temperature while driving. To protect the transmission, the Kia Telluride automatically limits available driving power.
Normal vehicle performance may be temporarily restricted until the transmission cools. Move to a safe location, keep the engine running, shift into P (Park), and wait several minutes until the warning message disappears.
If the warning continues to appear after the transmission has cooled, have the vehicle checked by an authorized Kia dealer to help prevent unexpected driving issues.
Trans cooled. Resume driving.
Once this message appears, the transmission has cooled to a normal operating temperature and you may continue driving your Kia Telluride under normal conditions.
WARNING
If any transmission-related warning message continues to flash or repeatedly reappears on the instrument cluster, stop driving as soon as it is safe to do so and have your Kia Telluride inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
When the Kia Telluride is in the ON position, the selected transmission range is displayed on the instrument cluster, allowing you to easily confirm the current gear selection...
WARNING
Exhaust fumes
Never drive your Kia Telluride with the liftgate open unless it is absolutely necessary. An open liftgate can allow hazardous exhaust gases to enter the passenger compartment, creating a serious risk of injury or death.
If driving with the liftgate open cannot be avoided, keep all windows open and set the ventilation system to allow a continuous flow of fresh outside air into the cabin...
On Kia Telluride models equipped with a smart key, the Smart Liftgate with AUTO Open function provides convenient hands-free access to the cargo area. When the system detects the authorized smart key near the rear of the vehicle, it can automatically open the liftgate without requiring you to press any buttons...
The outside temperature is displayed on
the multi-function display (color LCD).
NOTE
The outside temperature indicator
shows the temperature around the
sensor. However, the temperature may
not be indicated correctly or the update
may be delayed in the following conditions.
While parking or driving at low
speeds
When the outside temperature
changes suddenly (example: when
going in and out of an underground
parking area or when passing
through a tunnel)
When starting the engine after
being parked for a certain period of
time
The temperature unit cannot be
changed.
