The Junction Crossing function of Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is designed to help the driver when moving through an intersection where another vehicle may approach from the left or right. In the Kia Telluride, this function may operate through the following stages:
Collision Warning
Emergency Braking
Stopping vehicle and ending brake control
Collision Warning
|
|
Collision Warning can alert the driver with a blinking Forward Safety warning light (
), a warning message on the instrument cluster, an audible warning, and steering wheel vibration.
Collision Warning may activate under the following conditions:
Your speed is approximately 6-34 mph (10-55 km/h).
The crossing vehicle speed is approximately 6-37 mph (10-60 km/h).
When the detected object enters the operating range of the Junction Crossing function.
When the target is approaching at a speed lower than your vehicle's speed.
Emergency Braking
|
|
Emergency Braking can warn the driver with a blinking Forward Safety warning light (
), a warning message, an audible alert, and steering wheel vibration. If a crossing vehicle creates an immediate collision risk, braking assistance may activate to help avoid the impact or reduce its severity.
Emergency Braking may activate under the following conditions:
Your driving speed is approximately 6-34 mph (10-55 km/h).
The crossing vehicle speed is approximately 6-25 mph (10-40 km/h).
When the object approaches at a speed lower than your vehicle's own speed.
Stopping vehicle and ending brake control
|
|
If Emergency Braking brings the vehicle to a stop, a warning message appears on the instrument cluster.
For safety, immediately press the brake pedal and check the surroundings of the Kia Telluride before moving again.
Brake control ends approximately 2 seconds after Emergency Braking stops the vehicle.
WARNING
If the possible collision angle with the crossing vehicle is outside a certain range, Junction Crossing warning and control may be delayed or may not operate.
NOTE
You can press the hazard warning light button during Collision Warning or Emergency Braking to mute the warning sound.
