Subaru Forester: Forward Collision-avoidance Assist operation / Lane-Change Oncoming function: (if equipped)

The Lane-Change Oncoming function of Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is intended to support the driver when changing lanes and an oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist may create a collision risk. In the Kia Telluride, this function may provide the following assistance:

  • Collision Warning

  • Emergency Steering

Collision Warning

  1. Collision Warning

Collision Warning can alert the driver with a blinking Emergency steering warning light (Kia Telluride Emergency steering warning light icon), a warning message, an audible warning, and steering wheel vibration.

Collision Warning may activate under the following conditions:

  • Your speed is approximately 25-90 mph (40-145 km/h).

  • The oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist speed is above approximately 6 mph (10 km/h).

  • The relative speed is below approximately 124 mph (200 km/h).

  • When your vehicle and the oncoming vehicle or motorcycle are traveling in opposite directions.

  • When it is within a certain period after the system determines that the vehicle has departed from its lane.

  • When the target enters the operating range of the Lane-Change Oncoming function.

  • When driving on a straight road.

Emergency Steering

  1. Emergency Steering

Emergency Steering can warn the driver with a blinking Emergency Steering warning light (Kia Telluride Emergency Steering warning light icon during lane change), a warning message, an audible alert, and steering wheel vibration. Steering assistance may then activate to help mitigate or avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist.

Emergency Steering may activate under the following conditions:

  • Your driving speed is approximately 25-90 mph (40-145 km/h).

  • The oncoming vehicle or motorcyclist speed is above approximately 6 mph (10 km/h).

  • The relative speed is below approximately 124 mph (200 km/h).

  • Your vehicle and the oncoming vehicle or motorcycle are traveling in opposite directions.

  • It is within a certain period after the system determines that the vehicle has departed from its lane.

  • The target enters the operating range of the Oncoming Vehicle Response function during overtaking.

  • The vehicle is driving on a straight road.

  • Both lane markings are detected.

  • There is no detected risk of a secondary collision.
