• You are driving near a vehicle or structure

  Structure

  Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist may have limited detection capability when your Kia Telluride is reversing close to walls, parked vehicles, columns, or similar structures. In these situations, vehicles approaching from either side may not be detected in time, and the system may not provide a warning or automatic brake intervention.

  Always visually check both sides of the vehicle before and while reversing.

• The vehicle is in a complex parking environment

  In busy parking lots, the system may detect nearby vehicles that are parking, leaving adjacent spaces, turning behind your vehicle, or maneuvering around other parked vehicles.

  Under these circumstances, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist may issue warnings or briefly apply the brakes even when a collision is unlikely.

  Always monitor your surroundings carefully while backing up.

• The vehicle is parked diagonally

  When the Kia Telluride is parked at an angle, the radar sensors may have difficulty detecting vehicles approaching from the left or right. As a result, warnings or braking assistance may be delayed or unavailable.

  Always perform a visual safety check before reversing.

• The vehicle is on or near a slope

  Detection performance may decrease when reversing on steep uphill or downhill grades. Vehicles approaching from either side may not be recognized correctly, reducing the effectiveness of warnings and brake assistance.

  Always rely on direct observation of your surroundings while reversing.

• You are pulling into a parking space where there is a structure

  When reversing into a parking space bordered by walls or other fixed structures, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist may detect vehicles passing nearby and respond with warnings or brake intervention even though there is no immediate collision risk.

  Always confirm that the area behind your vehicle is clear before continuing.

• The vehicle is parked backward

  When the Kia Telluride is backed into a parking space, the system may detect passing traffic behind the vehicle and issue warnings or briefly apply the brakes even when no collision is expected.

  Always remain alert and verify traffic conditions yourself while reversing.

• For safety reasons, switch OFF Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist whenever your Kia Telluride is towing a trailer or another vehicle.

• Strong electromagnetic interference may reduce the performance of Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist or prevent normal operation.

• The system may require up to several seconds after the vehicle starts or the rear corner radars initialize before becoming fully operational.

• If the sensors remain blocked or a malfunction exists, restarting the vehicle does not guarantee proper operation because the system retains its previous operating status until the issue is resolved.
