- While depressing the brake pedal,
insert a screwdriver into the hole, press
the shift lock release button using a

performing the above procedure, the shift
lock system may be malfunctioning. Contact

are depressed at the same time,
driving torque may be restrained.
This is not a malfunction.
Always apply the foot or parking brake
when the vehicle is stopped in the “D” or
“R” position...
Other information:
While driving, the Driver Monitoring System
monitors possible cases of driver
inattention or drowsiness and warns the
driver.
When the inattentive/drowsy driving warning
activates, the buzzer sounds and an
interrupt display appears.
NOTE
The inattentive/drowsy driving warning
operates regardless of the status of
the user recognition function...
CAUTION
If the CHECK ENGINE warning light/
Malfunction indicator light illuminates
while you are driving, have
your vehicle checked/repaired by
your SUBARU dealer as soon as
possible. Continued vehicle operation
without having the emission
control system checked and repaired
as necessary could cause
serious damage, which may not be
covered by your vehicle’s warranty...
