Subaru Forester: Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) / TPMS malfunction indicator

If an electronic or hardware fault develops within the monitoring network, the low tire pressure warning icon ( ) will flash continuously for approximately 1 minute before remaining steadily illuminated on the instrument display.

If a tire pressure loss coincides with a system communication fault, the Kia Telluride TPMS architecture can simultaneously trigger both the general system malfunction warning and the specific low tire pressure position indicator lights. (For instance, if the front left wheel sensor experiences a signal fault, the overall malfunction indicator activates; however, if the front right, rear left, or rear right tire simultaneously drops below threshold, those specific position indicators will illuminate alongside the main TPMS fault light.)

Schedule a service inspection with an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible to diagnose and resolve the underlying system error, keeping in mind these potential external factors:

• The TPMS malfunction warning light may temporarily illuminate if you drive your Kia Telluride near facilities generating strong electromagnetic fields or radio frequency interference (such as power substations, broadcasting towers, airport radar installations, police stations, or military command centers), which can interrupt sensor signal reception.

• The system malfunction light may also activate if non-standard metallic tire chains are fitted to the wheels, or if high-powered aftermarket electronic equipment (such as power inverters, aftermarket navigation hardware, cellular signal boosters, or high-draw charging accessories) is operated inside the cabin near the receiver harness.
