Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) helps reduce the tendency of the Kia Telluride to roll backward when starting from a stop on a steep incline. The system temporarily maintains brake pressure, giving you additional time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Brake pressure is automatically released after approximately two seconds or sooner once the accelerator pedal is pressed and the vehicle begins moving forward.
Because HAC assistance is available only for a short period, apply the accelerator smoothly and begin driving promptly after releasing the brake pedal.
WARNING
Maintaining brake pressure on an incline
Hill-start Assist Control is intended only as a temporary driving aid and does not replace proper brake pedal use. When stopped on an incline, continue holding the brake pedal firmly until you are ready to move. Releasing the brake too early may allow the vehicle to roll, increasing the risk of an accident.
Brake Assistant System (BAS)The wiper operates only when the ignition switch is in the “ON” or “ACC” position.
