Using the power liftgate automatic close feature

1. With the liftgate fully open, stand within the detection area approximately 20–40 inches (50–100 cm) behind the vehicle while carrying the smart key. Remain in position for about three seconds until the confirmation chime sounds.
2. After the chime, move away from the rear of the vehicle while keeping the smart key with you. The Kia Telluride power liftgate will automatically close and a warning chime will sound during operation.

Setting the power liftgate automatic close feature

To enable or disable this feature, tap Setup > Vehicle > Door > Power liftgate and select or clear Power Liftgate Auto Close in the infotainment system.

Refer to the infotainment system manual for additional information regarding available settings.

While the liftgate is open, press the automatic close release button to deactivate the automatic closing function. Once disabled, the liftgate will no longer close automatically until the feature is enabled again through the vehicle settings.
