Subaru Forester: P (Park) / R (Reverse) / N (Neutral) / D (Drive) / / R (Reverse)
This position is for backing the vehicle. To
shift from the “N” to “R” position, stop the
vehicle completely then move the lever to
the “R” position while pressing the select
lever button in.
When the ignition switch has been turned
to the “ACC” position, the movement of the
select lever from the “N” to “R” position is
only possible by depressing the brake
pedal. For details, refer to “Shift lock
function”.
This position is for restarting a stalled
engine. In this position, the transmission is
neutral, meaning that the wheels and
transmission are not locked...

Cleaning ventilation grille
Front ventilation inlet grille
Always keep the front ventilation inlet grille
free of snow, leaves, or other obstructions
to ensure efficient heating and defrosting.
Since the condenser is located in front of
the radiator, this area should be kept clean
because cooling performance is impaired
by any accumulation of insects and leaves
on the condenser...
The SRS side airbag and SRS curtain
airbag are designed as follows:
To deploy in the event of an accident
involving a moderate to severe side impact
collision
To function on a one-time-only basis
The SRS side airbag and SRS curtain
airbag are not designed to deploy in the
following cases:
In most lesser side impacts
In most frontal or most rear impacts
(because the SRS side airbag and SRS
curtain airbag deployment would not protect
the occupant in those situations)
The SRS curtain airbags are also designed
to deploy when the vehicle is in an
extremely inclined state such as during a
rollover...
