While the ignition system or power button is ON, navigate to Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Parking Safety directly on the main infotainment system touchscreen of your Kia Telluride.
Backward Safety: This specific function delivers intuitive visual/audible driver alerts and active braking assistance whenever the system calculates an imminent risk of collision with pedestrians or obstacles located directly behind your vehicle.
WARNING
Do not rely on or use the system when towing a trailer, hauling another vehicle, or when a hitch-mounted bike rack, cargo carrier, or non-standard equipment is installed that interferes with rear sensor operation or vehicle balance. Under these conditions, the system may not operate normally or may trigger unintended emergency braking.
When connecting a trailer or exterior carrier, configure the trailer setup menu on your infotainment screen (if equipped). If the driver manually adjusts this setting or if a trailer connection is automatically recognized through approved genuine Kia parts, driver assistance system functions may be limited or temporarily disabled. Please review all Driver assistance system limitations thoroughly and always drive with caution.
TIP
When you restart your Kia Telluride, the Backward Safety preference remains selected and your previously customized Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist settings are retained automatically.

TIP
Your customized Warning Methods settings on your Kia Telluride may simultaneously apply to the warning alerts of other integrated driver assistance systems.
All Warning Methods preferences automatically maintain their last configured settings when you turn OFF and restart the vehicle engine or power system.
The specific Warning Methods configuration menu may vary slightly or may not be available on all Kia Telluride trim levels and market packages.
