The main purpose of Driver Attention Warning is to advise the driver to take a break when the system detects signs of reduced attention during driving.
Taking a break

|
The Inattentive Driving Warning light (
)
blinks, a warning message appears on the instrument cluster, and an audible warning sounds when the system determines that the driver’s attention level is below a certain level. This reminder encourages the driver to stop at a safe place and rest before continuing.
Driver Attention Warning will not recommend a break when the total driving time is less than 4 minutes, or when fewer than 4 minutes have passed since the previous break recommendation.
The driver’s attention level is evaluated using the following criteria:
The driver’s individual driving patterns, including steering behavior and acceleration or deceleration inputs
Driving conditions, including the length of time the vehicle has been driven
The driver’s attention level is reset under the following conditions:
When the driver’s seat belt is unfastened and the door is opened and closed while the vehicle is stopped
When the Kia Telluride remains stopped for more than 10 minutes
When the vehicle is restarted
The rest recommendation operates under the following condition:
Vehicle speed: 40 mph (60 km/h) or above
WARNING
For your safety, change Driver Attention Warning settings only after parking the vehicle in a safe location.
CAUTION
Driver Attention Warning may recommend a break based on your driving pattern or driving habits, even if you do not feel tired.
Driver Attention Warning is a supplemental function and may not always accurately determine whether the driver is inattentive.
If you feel tired or unfocused, stop and rest at a safe location even if Driver Attention Warning does not recommend a break.
During an interior camera warning, the inattentive driving warning function may be limited.
