The Junction Turning function of Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is designed to support the driver when turning across oncoming traffic. In the Kia Telluride, this function may operate through the following stages:
Collision Warning
Emergency Braking
Stopping vehicle and ending brake control
Collision Warning
|
|
Collision Warning can alert the driver with a blinking Forward Safety warning light (
), a warning message on the instrument cluster, an audible warning, and steering wheel vibration.
Collision Warning may activate under the following conditions:
Your driving speed is approximately 6-19 mph (10-30 km/h).
The oncoming vehicle speed is approximately 19-44 mph (30-70 km/h).
The motorcyclist or cyclist speed is approximately 9-44 mph (15-70 km/h).
When the detected object enters the operating range of the Junction Turning function.
Emergency Braking
|
|
Emergency Braking can warn the driver with the blinking Forward Safety warning light (
), a warning message, an audible alert, and steering wheel vibration. If the system determines that a collision with an oncoming vehicle, motorcyclist, or cyclist may occur while turning, it may apply braking assistance to help avoid the impact or reduce its severity.
Emergency Braking may activate under the following conditions:
Your driving speed is approximately 6-19 mph (10-30 km/h).
The oncoming vehicle speed is approximately 19-44 mph (30-70 km/h).
The motorcyclist or cyclist speed is approximately 9-44 mph (15-70 km/h).
When the detected object enters the operating range of the Junction Turning function.
Stopping vehicle and ending brake control
|
|
When Emergency Braking brings your vehicle to a stop, a warning message appears on the instrument cluster.
For safety, immediately press the brake pedal and check the area around the Kia Telluride before continuing.
Brake control ends approximately 2 seconds after Emergency Braking stops the vehicle.
TIP
Press the hazard warning light button to turn the warning sound OFF during Collision Warning and Emergency Braking.
TIP
When turning right at an intersection, braking assistance may activate if the system detects a collision risk with a cyclist approaching from the opposite side at approximately 9-12 mph (15-20 km/h).

While parking or driving at low speeds When the outside temperature changes suddenly (example: when going in and out of an underground parking area or when passing through a tunnel) When starting the engine after being parked for a certain period of time The temperature unit cannot be changed.
