Subaru Forester: Windows / Power window lock button

The driver can disable the rear passenger power window switches by pressing the power window lock button into the locked position. This feature helps prevent unintended operation of the rear windows while the Kia Telluride is being driven.

When the power window lock button is activated:

  • The driver's master power window controls remain capable of operating every passenger window.

  • The front passenger can continue using the front passenger window switch to control that window.

  • The rear door window switches are disabled, preventing rear passengers from operating the rear windows.

When the power window lock switch is engaged (indicator illuminated), rear passengers also cannot open the rear doors on vehicles equipped with the Electronic Child Safety Lock System. For additional details, refer to the Electronic child safety lock system section of the Kia Telluride owner's manual.

NOTE

  • To help protect the power window system and reduce electrical load, avoid operating two or more windows simultaneously whenever possible. This also helps extend fuse life.

  • Do not press the driver's master window switch and the corresponding individual door switch in opposite directions at the same time. Doing so will stop window movement until the controls are released.

WARNING

Windows

  • Never leave the keys or smart key inside your Kia Telluride with children who are not supervised.

  • Never leave children alone inside the vehicle. Even a very young child could accidentally operate the windows, move the vehicle, or create a situation that may result in serious injury.

  • Before raising any window, always verify that hands, arms, heads, or any other objects are completely clear of the window opening.

  • Do not allow children to play with the power window switches. Keep the driver's power window lock button in the LOCK position whenever children are riding in the rear seats to reduce the risk of serious injury caused by unintended window operation.

  • Never extend your head, arms, or any other part of your body outside the windows while the vehicle is moving.

Remote window opening : (if equipped)

Kia Telluride smart key remote window opening function

The Kia Telluride remote window opening feature allows you to lower the windows even when the engine is turned OFF.

Press and hold the Door Unlock button (1) on the smart key for more than 3 seconds. After the doors unlock, the windows begin lowering while the button remains pressed. Releasing the button immediately stops window movement.

To use this feature, the automatic power window down function must be available for all applicable windows.

NOTE

Do not leave the vehicle unattended after using the remote window opening function. Open windows can increase the risk of theft, and rainwater entering the cabin may damage the interior or electrical components.

NOTE

  • The remote window opening function may stop unexpectedly if you move outside the operating range while the windows are lowering. Stay close to the vehicle and monitor window movement throughout the process.

  • If one window encounters an obstruction and stops moving, the remaining windows may continue operating. Always confirm that every window has opened as intended.

  • Use caution whenever you activate the remote window opening feature because the doors are unlocked during operation.
