Operating conditions
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control operates when all of the following conditions are satisfied:

Smart Cruise Control is currently active.

The Auto Highway Speed Change setting is enabled through the cluster or infotainment system.

The Kia Telluride is traveling on a supported highway.
-
A compatible road section, such as an upcoming curve, is detected ahead.
-
The Smart Cruise Control set speed is higher than the recommended safe speed for the detected road section.

Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control display and control

While Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is active, the Kia Telluride instrument cluster provides clear visual indicators to show the current operating status of the system.
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control standby
When every operating requirement has been satisfied and the system is ready to assist, the green () indicator is displayed on the instrument cluster.
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control operating
While the system is actively controlling vehicle speed based on navigation information, the green () indicator flashes to show that Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is currently working.
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control pause/driver operation
If Smart Cruise Control is temporarily unavailable because it has been canceled, the navigation route is being recalculated, or another operating condition has interrupted the function, the gray () indicator appears on the instrument cluster.
If you press the accelerator pedal while the system is active, the white (
) indicator flashes to indicate that the driver is temporarily overriding the automatic speed control.
WARNING
If Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control determines that it cannot reduce the Kia Telluride to an appropriate speed for upcoming road conditions, a warning message is displayed to prompt the driver to take immediate control of the vehicle.

TIP
The appearance, colors, and graphics shown on the Kia Telluride instrument cluster may differ depending on the cluster version, selected display theme, or vehicle specification.
Highway Curve Zone Auto Slowdown
When the Kia Telluride approaches a highway curve, Highway Curve Zone Auto Slowdown uses navigation information to automatically reduce vehicle speed when appropriate. After the curve has been safely negotiated, the system smoothly accelerates the vehicle back to the Smart Cruise Control set speed.
TIP
The point at which automatic deceleration begins varies according to vehicle speed and the severity of the upcoming curve. Higher driving speeds and sharper curves generally cause the system to begin reducing speed earlier.

Outside temperature indicator
The outside temperature is displayed on the multi-function display (color LCD).
NOTE
The outside temperature indicator shows the temperature around the sensor. However, the temperature may not be indicated correctly or the update may be delayed in the following conditions.
